Introduction




                The Broadcast Seva Portal is an online interface that enables stakeholders of
                the Ministry to seek approval/permission for various services in the Broadcast
                Sector.


                An initial version of Broadcast Seva Portal was launched by the Ministry in
                2016 under the Automation of Broadcasting Wing scheme, as part of the

                12th Five Year Plan (2012-2017). The objective was to provide an Integrated
                Online Portal for speedy processing of applications for various broadcasting

                licenses, permissions, and registrations. The focus of the scheme was to
                provide a single point facility for broadcasting applicants to enhance Ease of

                Doing Business. The portal covered the following broadcasting facilities:

                •  Private Satellite TV channels


                •  Teleport operators


                •  Multi-service operators (cable operators)


                •  Community Radio Stations (CRS)


                •  Private FM Channels

                The Broadcast Seva Portal has now been revamped by the Ministry to

                enhance user experience, incorporate new features, allow seamless interface
                with agencies involved in the processing of applications by the Broadcasters,

                and enable efficient processing of such application by the Ministry.
